Halfway between fiction and documentary, using her daily life, video games, science fiction and French rap, Sara Sadik invents initiatory stories where young men play the main role trying to reach a physical and mental transformation. Her gaming arena-inspired multimedia installation, Ils finiront dans des ravins, features five characters from the Ultimate Vatos organisation. During a series of missions, the protagonists endeavour to organise their ideal society and design their territory protection system. Through their words, which reveal their hopes and anxieties, Sara Sadik’s piece depicts how love for oneself and one’s own springs up as a source of energy and a form of resistance to oppression and social exclusion.
