The Lacroix-Laval park will be the venue for an outdoor exhibition of pieces by Xuefeng Chen. This exhibition is presented in partnership with the Françoise Besson gallery.
Born in Yunnan on the border with Tibet, she moved to France 20 years ago. Her mixed techniques are a link between her native and adopted lands. They are strongly influenced by her mother, her local traditions and the folklore of her childhood. Her two poles, Yunnan and France, form the framework of her artistic journey between the shamanic cults with which she grew up and the contemporary art practices in which she lives today. The project entitled BÔ - Le Jardin Imaginaire is a collection of monumental sculptures that recreate an open-air 'garden-museum', an imaginary world without walls or borders. Each work has its own story and its own symbolism, but they communicate with each other, like a plant and its network of rhizomes. They tell the story of the origins of life, nature and humanity.
