Bastien David is fascinated by the diversity of the living world, and his music explores the tangible relationships that sounds weave between each other, and their ability to move in time and space. His experiments have led him to imagine the metallophone. This instrument enabled him to discover the simultaneous play of several performers at once, which he developed here on a large scale.

The Sensitive orchestral sculpture is made up of different instruments created by the artist and set vibrating by the audience. Conceived as a living organism, Sensitive composes a ballet of gestures and sounds. The installation invites us to engage in a physical dialogue with one another, creating a resonance with one’s neighbour. The work proposes the creation of a sound society and the harmonisation of bodies. Going against the grain of the new technologies and digital tools that flood the contemporary world, Bastien David’s river of bottles and other instruments attempt to highlight the beauty of a nonaugmented reality.
