Address
Rue de la Quarantaine,
69005 Lyon
Built on an ancient Roman road, Rue de la Quarantaine owes its name to the hospital that was set up in the 14th century when the city was hit by several plague epidemics. Of all the plague episodes, the one in 1628 was the most devastating. While the more affluent fled the city and the confinement, the plague victims were taken to the Quarantine, isolated from society.
