On the Place Antonin Poncet, where the Hospital de la Charité stood, next to the Grand Hôtel Dieu, is now the Hôtel des Postes. You can admire a monumental fresco created in 1937 by Louis Bouquet. Conceived as an allegory of Lyon's international influence, at a time when the city was suffering from economic difficulties, the fresco depicts a world still deeply affected by colonization.
