In the autumn of 2024, In extenso will host a duo exhibition by Océane Bruel and dylan ray arnold.
Together and apart, Océane Bruel and dylan ray arnold present us with a material poetic approach to understanding the everyday and all that it entails. Their languages use objects and materials in a partition of gestures to translate the human experience— an experience that cycles through joy, grief, pleasure, sadness, anxiety, calmness, and so on. Often inhabited by familiar objects— affective and sticky objects to cite Sarah Ahmed— their works evoke elusive and strangely relatable sensations. In preparation for the exhibition, the artists will spend two months in residence at Chalet Lecoq, a space dedicated to artistic creation provided by the City of Clermont-Ferrand. The project is supported by FRAME Finland. Having graduated from ENSBA Lyon in 2015, Océane Bruel (born in 1991 in Montpellier, lives and works in Helsinki) works in sculpture and installation. Her work has been shown at La BF15, Fondation d'entreprise Pernod Ricard, Helsinki Art Museum Gallery, Gether Contemporary (Denmark), Glassbox and Pauline Perplexe, among others. dylan ray arnold is a Helsinki-based artist who works in sculpture, installation, drawing, assemblage, print and video. Their work has been exhibited at the Helsinki Art Museum Gallery, Turku Art Hall and Titanik Gallery, Tallinn Art Hall (Estonia), Glassbox in Paris and Pauline Perplexe.
