Spacejunk and the artist Veks Van Hillik invite 9 artists from the French and Belgian street art and lowbrow scenes to create an artistic cabinet of curiosities in the basement of a building in Rillieux-la-Pape.
Following the demolition of the artists' residence at 1-3 Avenue du Mont-Blanc, we are delighted to present a new ephemeral exhibition space created around the theme of cabinets of curiosities. This project is supported by Erilia, the Municipality, and the State. The artistic direction has been offered to the artist Veks Van Hillik, who has invited 9 artists. Each artist will interpret the cabinet of curiosities in their own way, inviting us to discover the eclectic objects that compose it, taking us on journeys through real or illusory worlds using various techniques: installations, sculptures, paintings.
In this immersive exhibition, the artists have also paid tribute to the lives of the building's inhabitants by reinterpreting some of their personal belongings. The building, set to be demolished within two years, will conclude the exhibition at the end of 2026.
Visits are by reservation only via our website.
