Cut through meadows or take a shortcut. The exhibition by Saint-Etienne artist Franck Chalendard takes us on a journey from painting on canvas to painting in volume. At the Château-musée, plastic language, architecture, shapes and colors are superimposed in a renewed creativity.

From June 14 to November 3, the exhibition Couper à travers les prés presents the work of artist Franck Chalendard in partnership with Galerie Ceysson et Bénétière. The artist choreographs colors, patterns, signs and traces, on different supports (canvas, fabric, wood...) and in different formats. A painter first and foremost, the Saint-Etienne-based artist explores all forms of abstraction, all the potential of the motif. He conceives a style of painting in which the emotional power of color is constantly enhanced and renewed. For the occasion of this exhibition, Franck Chalendard chooses to take the side roads: the transition from painting on canvas to painting in volume is transformed into a field of exploration and experimentation. The majority of these new creations are presented for the first time at the Château-musée.

Free admission during the European Heritage Days: Saturday September 21 and Sunday September 22: 10am-12pm and 2pm-6pm
