Akira INUMARU is facinated by the light and its effect on the world of plant. It is the light that inspires his portraits of garden plants. Without ever yielding to decorative risk, he lets a serene, lively emotion act in his works.

After his early art studies in Tokyo, Akira Inumaru began his life as an artist in France in 2008, first in Lyon before moving to Normandy. But the " The spirit of gardens" project is a transcription of the lights of the Rhône-Alpes region: for this, he stayed in May in two houses in the region to create portraits of their gardens: the Collection de la Praye and the Zimmermann garden. Starting with the leaves and flowers he observed and harvested at length, he transcribed their light into paint using two techniques: Solar distillation This combines drawing with the burning of paper (by the natural light of a magnifying glass) and combines the disappearance and creation of matter under the fire of the sun. Pigment Light Using pigments and stencil-based printing made from the garden's own leaves, light is fixed on canvas to create a vibrant portrait, Captivated by light and its action, Akira Inumaru explores flora with the care and rigor of a herbalist. He plays with the chromatic spectrum and practices constant renewal, letting a serene, lively emotion act in his works.
