Hajar Satari’s multidisciplinary work, which takes the form of photographs, videos, sculptures and installations, explores her perceptions and mental representations of the world. Drawing on her physical and geological experience of space, her work gives us a glimpse of new ways of living with the changes in the ecosystem, and hints at an alternative relationship with the environments.

From the Pamir Mountains in Tajikistan to the Massif des Écrins in France, Hajar Satari travels through high-mountain landscapes, using her body to experience other time scales, in order to understand the daily movements of living beings. From the Alps she has created a diary illustrated with drawings, photographs and scientific observations of plants, to provide a long-term understanding of how species cohabit. Her sculptures evoke her personal perception as a living being, such as, for example, the centrality of water, the need for rest, interiority...In contrast to the usual depictions of mountain peaks as hostile and devoid of life, Hajar Satari’s work celebrates the ingenuity of organisms and the diversity of biological environments.
